Andrea Ollarvide, a native Floridian, has lived in Palm Beach County all her life and has been with the Klein Dance Company since 2004. Andrea began dancing at the age of four and is a 2006 graduate of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She was accepted into the prestigious Dance Conservatory of Purchase College in New York, but opted to continue her education at Palm Beach Atlantic University where she is pursuing studies in both Dance and Film Production. Andrea counts among her dance mentors Demetrius Klein, Eileen Hebron and Graciela Kozak. Her dance training includes the Summer Intensive at the Ailey School of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for two consecutive years, as well as workshops with choreographers Donald Byrd, Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson and the dance company Pilobolus. Andrea has also developed an interest in choreography and, at the request of Demetrius Klein, presented her first show in October 2007 at Klein Dance Space.
Stephanie McCluney was born in New York but has spent most of her life in Merritt Island, Florida. She began her dance training at the age of five. It was not until she came to Palm Beach Atlantic University, under the direction of Demetrius and Kathleen Klein, that she discovered modern dance. Stephanie graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a degree in Dance in the spring of 2004, and joined the Company that fall. With her husband safely home after a stint in the U.S. Navy and after commuting from San Diego for a time, Stephanie now calls West Palm Beach her home. She is also a classically certified personal Pilates instructor.
Kiya Schnorr was born and raised in West Palm Beach Florida. As a young girl, she began her studies in dance with ballet and tap at four, later picking up an interest in modern dance around the age of twelve when she enrolled in classes at Klein Dance Studio in Lake Worth. During her younger years, she danced with Demetrius Klein’s Second Company, and joined The Demetrius Klein Dance Company with an apprenticeship in the spring of 2005, becoming a member in the fall of 2006. Kiya has been accepted into Florida State University’s Dance Department as well as the Alvin Ailey summer dance program three times consecutively. In addition to her love for dance, Kiya also follows her passion for music, having graduated from Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts as a vocal music major. The youngest member of The Demetrius Klein Dance Company, Kiya is currently enrolled at Palm Beach Atlantic University as a freshman Dance major with a minor in Communications. She is also a member of the PBA honors department.
This is the beginning of Denver Milord’s second year with the Demetrius Klein Dance Company and his first as a company member. He began his dance training two years ago at Klein Dance and continues training there as well as with Ballet Florida and Florida Atlantic University. He has attended the Broadway Theatre Project in Tampa, Florida for the past two summers. There he was chosen with thirteen other dancers to workshop “The Pink Martini,” a new work, under the direction and choreography of Chris D’Amboise. Denver is so grateful to be with the Company and is looking forward to dancing with all its wonderful members for another season.
Justin Walker is from Vero Beach, Florida. He began dancing his senior year at Indian River Charter High School through the subtle coaxing of his instructor Chris Dale Sexton. He is currently a senior dance major with an exercise science minor at Palm Beach Atlantic University under the watchful eyes of Demetrius and Katie Klein as well as Ms. Eileen Hebron. Justin also competes in collegiate power lifting. He has won the Florida state title in his weight division twice and qualified for nationals. Justin began his apprenticeship with the company in the spring of 2005 and joined the Company at the beginning of 2006.
Kori Epps grew up in Brazil, the Caribbean and Canada. She was accepted into the Rio de Janeiro State Ballet School when she was five years old. For the next thirteen years, she continued her ballet training in whichever country she found herself in with masters such as Patricia Ruanne, Frederick Jahn. Eventually she stumbled upon modern dance at Palm Beach Atlantic University. With the guidance of Demetrius and Kathleen Klein, she finally discovered her more natural means of expression. Kori has been a part of summer experiences with Cuballet, the Mark Morris School, and most recently three weeks with Movement Research. She graduated with honors from Palm Beach Atlantic University with degrees in Dance and Communication. Since joining the Company in the fall of 2004, Kori is now happy to call West Palm Beach and Klein Dance her home.
